Onboarding

Employee onboarding helps a new hire become ready and comfortable in their role. Its main functions include:

  • Preparing for the start date: Set up equipment, accounts, workspace, and a first-day schedule.
  • Completing paperwork: Collect employment, payroll, and benefits information.
  • Introducing the business: Explain its purpose, organization, policies, and workplace expectations.
  • Connecting people: Introduce the new employee to their manager, coworkers, and key contacts.
  • Providing training: Teach the tools, procedures, and safety practices needed for the job.
  • Clarifying the role: Review duties, goals, performance expectations, and who to ask for help.
  • Checking progress: Follow up during the first weeks or months, answer questions, and address gaps in training.

The goal is to help the employee start work effectively and become a productive member of the team.
